In Bodrum there is an award winning vineyard in magical grounds, at ancient Karia where wine making was a tradition even in the Roman Times. At Karnas Vineyards, delicious Food & Wine Pairing dinners are offered where you have a chance to see the vineyard, the cellar and meet the owners. The concept is farm to table, everything that is served, is grown in the area by local farmers, grapes are organic. Karnas Zinfandel wine is the one and only Zinfandel wine in Turkey and Karnas Shiraz wines are awarded the best Shiraz / Syrah Wine in Turkey in 2017. Watching the sun go down while sipping your wine is breath taking.

Great experience

Wonderful cuisine and experience. The food and wine were delicious and having a sunset experience here was phenomenal. The driver pickup and drop off was also extremely helpful.

Lovely dinner among the vines.

We really enjoyed our visit to this vineyard. The staff was friendly. The food and wine was delicious. The sunset was the best we have seen in Bodrum.

Ancient Grapes, modern wine, classic evening

Spectacular sunset for our Family, made more delicious with the Food & Wine. The hosts graciously allowed our granddaughter to attend and the vineyard cat was great entertainment. We bought two bottles of the Syrah for a boat trip and that was a perfect pairing as well.

Unique but many imperfections

Elegantly served dinner in characterful arch-roofed wine room. 4 courses of simple Turkish country cooking with little to no spicing and no vegetables. A tasty soup, ground beef in puff pastry, and slow-cooked lamb risotto were bland in color, texture and style. (Your toothless grandfather would be fine, having nothing to chew or bite on.) Dinner is followed by a brief and superficial tour of the cellar. We visitors from California wine country had to adjust our expectations. You won’t get to meet the owner or winemakers (a Spanish/Turkish couple with French training), the commentary on the wine is rudimentary in the extreme, and the ambiance is awkward, with inexperienced staff lurking in view of your eating instead of retiring. There are only 3 wines served (none with dessert) and woe betide you if you ask for a repeat pour, or a change of music from the Rat Pack. There are many simple ways in which this experience could be improved. For this rustic, remote spot 45 mins from Bodrum, we were glad of the comfortable two-way limo service included in Viator’s price.

Great concept, questionable execution

From what we saw of the vineyard it was a beautiful setting but sadly our transport arranged directly through the venue didn’t get us there until it was dark. The food and wine was nice enough but a little bit more for the price paid wouldn’t have gone a miss. Short but informative tour provided. Take home message: if planning a trip here from Bodrum, arrange your own transport to/ from as to ensure you get the most out of your experience
